MARK KLINGSHEIM
Mark Klingsheim has successfully completed executive search assignments nationally for global Fortune 500 companies as well as private corporations and VC-backed emerging growth companies. He has successfully conducted searches for executive/management positions nationwide including medical device, healthcare, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
Prior to founding Northpoint Partners LLC, Mark worked as the vice president of a regional executive search firm. Preceding that, he was a managing consultant for Korn/Ferry International Futurestep, a global search firm. In this capacity he worked with companies to identify and recruit executive talent in North America and was responsible for managing search consultants throughout the United States. His experience also includes leadership for the Advanced Technology Practice.
Before joining Korn/Ferry International, Mark conducted searches for a leading information technology search firm, placing senior-level technology professionals as well as senior management talent. In addition, he held sales and marketing positions in both start-ups and established companies.
Mark along with his wife and three daughters make their home in Minnesota. He is active in non-profit organizations and enjoys public speaking. He holds a BS degree from North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Curt Koland
Curt Koland entered the executive search business in 1984, serving a variety of Minneapolis-based clients primarily within the banking and technology industries. In 1991, he redirected his efforts and began a specialized focus on the Silicon Valley medical device industry. Over the last 17 years, Curt has placed hundreds of engineers and managers in the Bay Area market and established trusted relationships with executives and professionals at all levels.
A vast personal network allows Curt ready access to information and candidates throughout the Bay Area medical device industry. Many current CEOs and vice presidents were once engineers that Curt placed earlier in their careers. Relying on much more than a list of names in a database, Curt knows candidates and clients on a personal basis because he has tracked their careers and witnessed their growth through various companies.
Prior to entering the executive search profession, Curt was an engineer in the oil and gas industry. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and is an ongoing student of history, theology, and politics. His “dream job” (the one that will never be) is to be a political strategist for a presidential candidate – but he likes his current role almost as much. His free time passions are world travel and paddling his canoe or kayak on extended wilderness treks. Curt is married with three children.
Shawn Severson
Shawn Severson has successfully completed
executive searches across the United States for Fortune 500 and emerging
growth companies. He
has specialized in the Medical Device, Healthcare,
Pharmaceutical, and Biotech Industries.
Prior to joining Northpoint Partners, Shawn held
recruitment leadership positions at UnitedHealth
Group where he led the company’s sourcing strategy for the recruitment
of clinical executives, led physician recruitment
efforts, and managed recruitment for their healthcare consulting division. Preceding
that, he was a Manager of Recruitment Solutions
at Korn/Ferry International Futurestep where he led Executive Recruiters
and delivered on the company’s
most difficult searches in their Life Science
and Advanced Technology verticals. In that capacity Shawn worked
with Senior Executives at Medical Device,
Pharmaceutical, and Biotech
companies to place senior leaders in their
Clinical Research, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Medical
Affairs divisions. Before
joining Korn/Ferry International, he conducted
searches for a leading information technology search firm, and was an
Analytical Chemist in the Pharmaceutical and Petroleum industries.
Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the
University of Minnesota Duluth with concentrations in Biology, Chemistry,
and Geology. He
is also an avid multi-species fisherman.
ALAN HOAG
Alan Hoag comes to Northpoint Partners with an extensive career that has focused on the healthcare industry in senior leadership positions. Alan was most recently president of a consulting firm that provides sales department organization design and interim Sales management and ultimately recruiting for the positions to complete the department he had designed.
Before moving into the consulting field, Alan was a Vice President of Sales of various business units of a major international healthcare equipment manufacturer Hill-Rom Co. a division of Hillenbrand Industries and acquired experience at all levels of sales during his successful career. In his years in this industry he demonstrated strong leadership skills and accomplished his sales and profit goals every year for 34 straight years. He also helped design the sales structure that remains in place today and was one of the most effective recruiters of top talent in company history.
His character, work ethic, and commitment have long been recognized as his strong suits.
He is the father of three grown children and outside of work is dedicated to that family as well as being on the board of two organizations.
He was educated at the University of Minnesota and has lived in the Minneapolis area most of his life.
